The You in Music
Capstone Project: Workshop
An important part of the college experience in learning about ourselves and how to deal with new situations. One of these experiences is learning how to deal with stress and anxiety on our own, which can be done through the use of music. Music is present in our everyday lives, so being able to use it to our advantage in learning about ourselves and society is a sure way to help handle difficult emotions. Music has been shown to decrease negative emotions and increase positive emotions such as happiness and productivity, by either playing, creating, or simply listening to it. By going through the workshop the participants will learn how they represent themselves through music and how they can use music as an emotional outlet. This workshop will be a fun and teachable way to interact with music in different forms and activities, to learn how each individual is affected and can use music as a tool in their lives.
