For my final project, I have created two graphic design digital collage edits using already existing photos on the internet. Each piece serves as a reflection of pop culture and iconic movies& entertainment during the years of 2000 and 2010.I choose to portray these two years because I grew up in the 2000s, and feel especially connected to those particular time periods. I also believe that each decade brings a new set of trends and fads that influence pop culture, and in turn music and art, so I wanted to start at the beginning of each decade. My process included creating a playlist for each era, which included about20-25 songs each, and listening to them while making the digital collages. The purpose of the music was not only to be inspiring but also to relax me. Because I listened to music while creating my pieces the project turned into a fun experience rather than strictly work—and in turn reduced my stress and anxiety. I chose music specific to my taste and what helped reduce my stress, which is why the music mainly belongs to the pop genre.
