Ruitao Chen

I’ve never written a song before and it’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a while since I started practicing music. I’ve tried on several occasions and never really committed because they weren’t turning out the way I’d hoped. This time, I wanted to finish what I’d written regardless of how bad I think it turned out. The things I wrote in this song are about things that I would never say out loud to other people and honestly only come out in certain states of mind. I had to write this alone because that’s the only time I could really be inside my own head. The song ended up representing the theme of sadness while exploring topics like loneliness and being based around the idea of what would happen “if i were to die tomorrow”. It’s definitely not perfect, but to me it makes sense, and I hope whoever listens to it can get something from it too.
